SOCIAL media is abuzz with talk about former prime minister Najib Razak and wife’s trip to Jakarta tomorrow.

Sources said a private aircraft from Indonesia would pick up the couple at Subang International Airport in the morning.

Malaysians, however, said Najib had to be stopped and detained to be investigated for corruption.

“Take away his international passport, put him in a lockup under corruption investigations, remand him for 100 days, Anwar’s room is now empty,” said Facebook user Muhd Ismaidi Abd Hamid.

“Stop them from leaving the country,” said Facebook user Eugene Ter.

“..need to arrest first before he runs away,” said Kapitan Khairul.

One joked that the couple were going to meet an Indonesian “bomoh”, and another suggested that the two be prevented from leaving the country by an act of sabotage to the plane, such as what had happened to Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s plane when he was flying to Langkawi for nomination.

“Looking for the Indonesian King of Bomohs. Malaysian Bomohs are useless, the bamboo telescope is out of order,” said Eduan Padasian.

“Faster burst the airliner’s tyre to not let him out of Malaysia,” said Nom Normah. 

Meanwhile, MalaysiaKini reports that Najib is going on a weekend break with his wife tomorrow.

“He wants a rest and so he is going away for two days. He will be back,” a source is quoted as saying.

The source dismissed claims Najib was fleeing the country.

“Everyone has the flight schedule… So they can go and check if he is fleeing with bags of money and stuff… There is no such thing (happening). – May 12, 2018.
