THE National Democratic Alliance led by incumbent Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s party won a majority in the general election, Indian broadcaster NDTV’s calculations showed today.
Elections for the Indian parliament’s lower house were held in seven phases from April 19 to June 1, with vote-counting to be completed on June 4.
The calculations showed that the incumbent prime minister’s coalition won at least 280 parliamentary seats out of 543. – June 4, 2024.
