UNDER-FIRE Attorney-General Mohamed Apandi Ali has denied allegations he hid evidence relating to 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) in clearing former prime minister Najid Razak of wrongdoing in the scandal, New Straits Times reports.
He said the decision was made based on available facts and the law, both procedural and substantive laws.
“My conscience is clear and I will be transparent and willing to disclose all. There is nothing to hide and I did not act with any ulterior motive or agenda.
“What is of utmost importance is that the rule of law shall prevail and whatever action to be taken or done by anyone must be in accordance to the law,” he told NST.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said Apandi had lost credibility.
He hinted Apandi would not remain long in office as he had hidden evidence, which was against the law.
“We have to look into who the A-G is. At the moment, the A-G has undermined his own credibility,” Dr Mahathir said. – May 11, 2018.
