PKR deputy president Azmin Ali has been sworn in as Selangor menteri besar for a second term. 

The oath-taking ceremony took place at Istana Alam Shah, Klang, before the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah. 

Azmin, who won the Bukit Antarabangsa state seat and Gombak parliamentary seat, is the 15th Selangor menteri besar. 

Azmin’s appointment comes on the heels of Pakatan Harapan’s landslide win in Selangor. It garnered 51 of 56 state legislative assembly seats in the 14th general election on Wednesday. 

The figure surpassed its previous results in GE13, where the pact won 40 state seats. 

PH also strengthened its hold on the country’s  richest state by winning 20 of 22 parliamentary seats.

It also wrested Hulu Selangor and Kuala Selangor back from Barisan Nasional.
