MACC to investigate graft during GE14

The Malaysian Insight

THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will investigate cases of party hopping, especially in Sabah, where elements of corruption might exist, said Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

“We will investigate. We want to follow the rule of law but there are lots of grey areas where people use money to buy (candidates),” Dr Mahathir said in a press conference today.

The Pakatan Harapan chairman also said if there is any evidence of foul play, a by-election might be called in the respective states.

“When we find evidence that the person is corrupted, it may require the results of election to be invalidated.” – May 11, 2018.
