THE new state government will not last long, Shafie Apdal said today after Musa Aman was sworn in as chief minister for the fourth time yesterday.
Shafie, the Parti Warisan Sabah president, said the Barisan Nasional-led Sabah government lacks stability.
After the 14th general election, the Warisan-Pakatan Harapan pact and BN ended up with 29 seats each, producing a hung assembly.
However, BN yesterday secured the support Sabah STAR president Jeffrey Kitinggan.
“The state government will not last long. I am certain about this as I had experienced it before,” he said today in Kota Kinabalu, adding that he will join other Sabahans to protest against the new state government.
He will also announce the next course of action after discussing any move with Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who is to chair the Pakatan Harapan presidential meeting in Petaling Jaya today.
Shafie also said BN tried to bribe him with offers of a cabinet post at the federal level.
“The other side tried to pull me over with all sorts of things, including a post (in the government). But what post do I need? I already had them last time.”
He disclosed a number of Warisan assemblymen were also offered bribes to leave the party. – May 11, 2018.
