Musa unveils Sabah cabinet

SABAH Chief Minister Musa Aman unveiled his full state cabinet late yesterday, citing plans to make changes to form a coalition of local parties and to work with the Pakatan Harapan federal government.

“Maybe changes will be made but we will discuss with Sabah Star to execute the best ways possible.    

“We will also look into the situation, but we will be making contact with the federal government. More importantly, we must maintain our solidarity and do our best for the state,” he told reporters after spending more than four hours at Istana Negeri taking his oath yesterday.

Musa named Hajiji Noor, Masidi Manjun and Jeffrey Kitingan as his deputies.

Hajiji is also infrastructure development minister, while Masidi holds the tourism, culture and environment portfolio and Kitingan the agriculture and food industries minister.

The other ministers are Bolkiah Ismail (industrial development), Jahid Jahim (local government and housing), Ellron Angin (rural development), Masiung Banah (youth and sports), Bobbey Suan (special task force), Anita Baranting (community development and consumer affairs) and Musbah Jamli (resource development and information technology).

Musa is also finance minister.

“I will name all the assistant ministers later. At the same time, I will also nominate six assemblymen as stipulated under Article 14 (1) (c ) of the state constitution,” he said.

The six will be sworn in before the state assembly speaker later today. – May 11, 2018.
