NAJIB Razak has congratulated his former mentor Dr Mahathir Mohamad on becoming the prime minister.

In a tweet late yesterday, the Barisan Nasional chairman said he would help to ensure a smooth transition of power.

Pakatan Harapan chairman Dr Mahathir took his oath of office at nearly 10pm yesterday at the Istana Negara to become Malaysia’s seventh prime minister as well as her fourth, at the age of 93.

Malaysia made history on May 9 when she changed the government for the first time since Merdeka, as well as when she voted for the opposition to have a former leader return to reprise his role. – May 11, 2018.
