DR Mahathir Mohamad thanked former Umno leaders who were brave enough to campaign with him and Pakatan Harapan against Barisan Nasional in GE14.

Former Umno ministers like Daim Zainuddin, Rafidah Aziz and Rais Yatim had “guts”, he said.

She (Rafidah) came out in full force to help us. This helped a lot.

“So did Daim and Rais and the rest. I wish more people had had the guts to come out (and speak out). Guts is a commodity that is scarce in this country,” Dr Mahathir said in a press conference after being sworn in.

The PH chairman also thanked the voters for coming out in full force during the polls to vote for the coalition even when the odds were stacked against them.

“I feel we did extremely well. The crowd we attracted was never before seen in our political history.”

Dr Mahathir pledged PH would prove a good administration that abided by the federal constitution.

“We promise to set up a good government. The government will be based on the federal constitution and law of the country.” – May 11, 2018.
