MUAR’S newly elected representative Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman has extended his hand in fellowship to his election rivals in the hopes of developing the “Pearl of Johor”, Bernama reported.
He said elected representatives would do more good collaborating and working together rather than apart.
“Friends in Umno and PAS have roles in my plans to develop Muar and Malaysia as a whole. My promise is that your future will not dim just because I was elected to represent the people for this term.
“To my opponents in Muar, I extend my friendship and cooperation for us to develop Muar as the Pearl of Johor,” the 25-year-old said in a statement today.
He said his only goal as a representative was to help Malaysia grow.
“I entered politics to reinstate power to the people so that no political leader or political party will be too powerful, and to ensure Malaysia will rise once more as the Asian Tiger, and together, we can do the impossible.”
Syed Saddiq won the Muar parliamentary seat with 22,341 votes, followed by Barisan Nasional’s Razali Ibrahim (15,388) and PAS’ Abdul Aziz Talib (4,354). – May 10, 2018.
