Saudi Arabia to celebrate Aidilfitri tomorrow

SAUDI Arabia, the guardian of Islam’s holiest shrines, will be celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri tomorrow, the kingdom announced on X.

“The Supreme Court declares tomorrow the last day of #Ramadan and Wednesday the first day of #Eid Al-Fitr,” the state Saudi Press Agency said.

The timing of Aidilfitri is determined by the sighting of the crescent moon, in accordance with the Muslim lunar calendar.

Saudi media outlets reported that the crescent moon was not visible on Monday.

The United Arab Emirates and Qatar have also announced that Aidilfitri will begin tomorrow.

Malaysia will today be looking out for the Syawal new moon to determine the date of Aidilfitri, after which  the Keeper of the Rulers’ Seal will announce the date.

Twenty-tine locations nationwide have been identified for the sighting of the Syawal new moon.
