CIVIL servants must continue to perform their duties and serve Malaysians, the Agong and the chosen government, said Chief Secretary to the Government Ali Hamsa.
“As a country that practises parliamentary democracy under a constitutional monarch, we must respect the outcome of the 14th general election.
“Civil service employees must continue to perform their duties as stated in Article 132 (2A) of the federal constitution,” he said in a statement today.
The circular was addressed to government employees in the federal and state services and security forces.
Article 132 pertains to the role of the civil service in the federal constitution. Articles 132 (2A) states that federal employees hold office at the pleasure of the king while state employees serve at the pleasure of the state rulers. – May 10, 2018.
