DR Mahathir Mohamad will not be sworn in as the country’s seventh prime minister today, according to news reports.

Istana Negara communication officer Mohd Husni Yusop said the palace has yet to set a date for the ceremony but confirmed that it would not take place today.

After Pakatan Harapan secured a simple majority, Dr Mahathir told a media conference he would be sworn in as prime minister today.

Since then a viral message had gone out on social media that the swearing-in would be held at Istana Negara at 9.30am today.
