The Malaysian Insight

THE Johor and Malacca state governments are said to have fallen, a senior Umno official said.

The results follow the defeats of a minister and two deputy ministers in Johor. Health minister Dr S. Subramaniam, deputy finance minister Chua Tee Yong and deputy home minister Nur Jazlan Mohamed are reported to have lost Segamat, Labis and Pulai.

Gerakan’s Liang Teck Meng, however, is reported to have retained Simpang Rengam.

PKR is reported to have retained Batu Pahat with former Penang deputy chief minister Mohd Rashid Hasnon.

Another federal minister in a tough battle in Johor is Dr Wee Ka Siong who is contesting against DAP’s Liew Chin Tong.

Also trailing in the tally as of 9pm is long-time Johor Bahru MP Shahrir Samad, who is up against PKR’s Akmar Nasir. – May 9, 2018.
