MORE than one million people have registered on the Central Database Hub (PADU), eight days after it was launched, Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli said.

He said on X that figure included children under 18.

“The entire government machinery has been deployed to ensure we minimise the risk of people being left out of targeted subsidies via PADU registrations.

“Let’s maintain this momentum to shift towards targeted assistance,” he said, urging those who have not registered to do so on the website.

He said people should help their relatives and neighbours who are not tech-savvy to register on the database.

PADU registration is open from January 2 to March 31.

The database would be used by the government to improve policy planning and resource distribution, especially of targeted subsidies and aid. – Bernama, January 9, 2024.
