PARTI Warisan Sabah deputy president Darell Leiking cried foul today after his polling and counting agents (Paca) were denied their Election Commission-issued authorisation cards, when the Penampang returning officer went missing.
He said his team members had waited since 8am for returning officer Luvita Koisun, who had still had not arrived at 2.30pm.
“The BN guys could just walk in without a hitch, but my Paca officers were told the returning officer and her assistant were not around.
“I have 420 Paca officers in all, who made sure the counting process was done (properly) in the 13th general election.
“They were the ones who made sure there was no cheating, and (that’s how) I won the parliamentary seat before,” he said in Tanjung Aru, Kota Kinabalu.
In 2013, Leiking won the Penampang seat on a PKR ticket with a 10,216 majority against Upko president Bernard Dompok and an independent.
The endorsement of the returning officer or assistant returning officer of the documents and authorisation cards is required to allow Paca to conduct their duties as the candidate’s agents during the voting and vote-counting process. – May 8, 2018.
