Give Pakatan a chance, says Ambiga

GIVE Pakatan Harapan (PH) the chance to govern the country, Ambiga Sreenevasan said as Malaysians go to the polls tomorrow.

Describing the 14th general election as the most important elections in the history of the country, the lawyer-cum-activist said this was the best chance to bring change to the country.

“My fear is that if we do not bring change to the country now, when will it be ever possible.

“For the first time, it seems that we can actually bring change. My concern is that this is the only chance we will have to bring change,” Ambiga said in a three-minute video.

In urging Malaysians to vote PH into power, she said, they can be removed if they fail to govern the country.

“If PH can’t govern, then we will once again exercise our rights as voters to bring change,” she said.

She also questioned if things will change for the better if the caretaker government is returned to power.

“Will they change, will things improve?

“I believe that the people of Malaysia will make the right choice, will have the courage to do the right thing.

“We have seen so much courage around us,” added Ambiga.

PH, led by former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, is looking to end Barisan Nasional’s 61-year rule. The party is currently led by caretaker prime minister Najib Razak.

PH is hoping for a Malay tsunami, which will see a sizeable swing of Malay voters to the opposition coalition. But pollster have said for that to happen, turnout must be at least 85% tomorrow. – May 8, 2018.
