NAJIB Razak flew back to Kuala Lumpur from Kota Kinabalu today on an AirAsia aircraft emblazoned with the words “Hebatkan Negaraku” and “Make my country greater”, the theme of Barisan Nasional’s election manifesto.
Bernama reported that the BN chairman and Sabah leaders took photos with the A330-300 jet in the background before the flight departed.
Najib, who wrapped up his two-day visit to the state as part of BN’s election campaign, was accompanied at Kota Kinabalu International Airport by caretaker deputy chief ministers Joseph Pairin Kitingan and Yahya Hussin, and caretaker state secretary Sukarti Wakiman, among others.
Also present was AirAsia Group chief executive officer Tony Fernandes.
Fernandes has been slammed by social media users over a YouTube video in which he voiced support for Najib.
In the clip, Fernandes said the Najib administration “puts the people first”, and has helped his company to grow.
Malaysians have questioned his motives in calling on voters to ignore criminal investigations linked to the caretaker prime minister.
Some social media users said his decision to openly support a government riddled with scandals may result in the low-cost carrier losing customers. – May 7, 2018.
