POLICE are on their sixth day probing into the death of six-year-old Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin in the surrounding areas of Idaman Apartment, Damansara Damai, Petaling Jaya.

A team of police officers, together with the Royal Malaysia Police forensics unit, arrived at the scene at 11.45am to look for further clues to solve the case.

Also seen at the location were staff from the Selangor Irrigation and Drainage Department and the Sungai Buloh Fire and Rescue Department working to pump out water from a catchment area near a river where Zayn’s body was found.

Work to syphon out water began at around 12.20pm, however, it had to be stopped after just 10 minutes due to heavy rain.

Zayn, who has autism, was found in the drainage near a water retention area about 200m from his home at around 10pm on December 6.

Zayn’s death was later classified as a murder after a post-mortem revealed injuries to the child’s neck and body. – December 12, 2023.
