Dr Mahathir has had Langkawi's back since 1956, says Mokhzani

MOKHZANI Mahathir reminded Langkawi folk that the one true person who will continue to serve them is Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who arrived on the island in 1956.

He said that the Pakatan Harapan chairman had never forsaken the people and would continue to serve them, even after the 14th general election.

“Today, a lot of people are coming to Langkawi and making a lot promises and giving out things.

“But they will disappear after May 9 (polling day).

“Dr Mahathir will be here serving you like he did when he first began serving Langkawi as a doctor in 1956,” he said in campaigning for his father.

In 1954, Dr Mahathir was sent to Alor Star General Hospital before being posted to clinics in Langkawi, Jitra and Perlis.

The fomer prime minister faces Barisan Nasional incumbent Nawawi Ahmad in the polls.

Mokhzani said Dr Mahathir had never planned to return to politics long after leaving it.

“(But) plans for the country went haywire and he wants to correct them.

“This man is ‘anak Langkawi’. There is no hidden agenda here. He has always taken care of the people,” Mokhzani said. – May 6, 2018.
