VETERAN Umno politician and former minister Rais Yatim today said that the large turnout at gatherings nationwide was a testament to the people’s power.

He did not specify any party but opposition coalition Pakatan Harapan hse organised mega-ceramah across the country to whip up support.

“What has happened at these large gatherings should not be underestimated,” the government adviser said in Bangsar.

“Please see this as a sign of the people’s power.

“If Umno or the top leaders say that it is nothing, then I think that is a mistake.”

Rais has been a vocal critic of Umno and the government under caretaker prime minister Najib Razak’s administration. However, he has not made a public appearances at any PH ceramah.

Former Umno leaders Rafidah Aziz and Daim Zainuddin have come out to openly support PH. They have been sacked from Umno while Rais is under investigation. – May 6, 2018.
