BARISAN Nasional chairman Najib Razak should take care of troubles in the ruling coalition first instead of bothering with the crowd numbers at Pakatan Harapan ceramah, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said today.
Lim said Najib has no proof when he accused PH of bringing in outsiders to make up the numbers at its ceramah.
“He said we bused outside people to our ceramah to make up the crowd. That was irresponsible, as he cannot show proof.
“In Ipoh, we got 10,000. No buses. In Malacca, also there were no buses. People came on their own to support change.
“He should first look at the internal troubles in Umno. They just fired two veterans. There is no need for him to look at our crowd sizes,” Lim said during a campaign walkabout in the Air Putih state seat in Penang, which he is defending in GE14.
Lim, who is caretaker Penang chief minister, said BN was likely in panic mode after seeing the response of Malays and non-Malays at PH ceramah nationwide these elections.
“This is the people rising up, demanding change.”
Yesterday, Najib said the PH ceramah crowds were bused in, adding that no civil servant was present at the mammoth Putrajaya ceramah on Thursday. – May 6, 2018.
