ONLY Daim Zainuddn and Rafidah Aziz have been sacked from Umno, while Rais Yatim is under investigation, party secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said.

He corrected news reports earlier today stating all three former Umno ministers had received the boot for supporting the opposition.

“It is not clear if (Rais) has spoken against the party. We need to establish if he has colluded with the opposition to derail Barisan Nasional’s victory,” he was quoted as saying on The Star Online.

All three have been critical of Umno and of caretaker prime minister Najib Razak’s government but  Daim and Rafidah had gone further by openly campaigning at Pakatan Harapan ceramah.

The two Umno veterans had joined the former boss, PH chairman and prime ministerial candidate Dr Mahathir Mohamad at a ceramah in Malacca last night.

Rais has voiced his opinions on social media but has yet to be seen on the ceramah circuit.

Tengku Adnan said Daim and Rafidah would have known “what is coming”.

“We believe in the concept of ‘walak’ (loyalty) which means you listen to your leader… So how can you backstab us?” he said. – May 5, 2018.
