THE mother of Pakatan Harapan Chempaka candidate Nik Omar Nik Abdul Aziz’ has called her son an “anak derhaka” (ungrateful child) for turning against PAS.

Tuan Sabariah Tuan Ishak, widow of former Kelantan menteri besar Nik Abdul Aziz, said she was disappointed in her son’s decision to stand against his father’s party.

“On the night (of nomination day), I called him but he didn’t answer. So I sent him a message. ‘Withdraw (from contesting), otherwise you are anak derhaka,” she said in a video on YouTube.

She said even Nik Omar’s wife and children did not know what he was up to until nomination day.

She said she had warned Nik Omar to say no to Amanah out of respect for his father.

Amanah’s Nik Omar is vying for the seat his father had held for five terms until his death in 2015.

Tuan Sabariah is campaigning for PAS candidate Ahmad Fathan Mahmood against her son.

“My son might support Pakatan but I will not follow because I have long been with Tok Guru (Nik Aziz),” – May 5, 2018.
