DAP's Ngeh barred from entering Sarawak

The Malaysian Insight

PERAK DAP leader Ngeh Koo Ham was yesterday stranded at Sibu airport after finding out he had been barred from entering Sarawak.

“I am now barred (from) entering Sarawak, now detained at Sibu airport, to be deported on the next flight back to KL,” the Beruas incumbent said on Facebook and Twitter.

“Is this the way Barisan Nasional intends to retain its Sarawak fixed deposit, not through better policies, but by barring Sarawakians (from) listening to alternative views?”

He has confirmed with Malaysia Decides that he has arrived in Kuala Lumpur.

Amanah president Mohamad Sabu was banned from entering Sarawak last month.

Last week, civil society group Movement of Change urged the Sarawak chief minister and state Immigration Department not to bar opposition leaders from entering.

Other opposition leaders who have suffered the same fate include PKR’s Nurul Izzah Anwar, Chua Tian Chang, or better known as Tian Chua, and Zuraida Kamaruddin, as well as DAP’s Teresa Kok. – May 5, 2018.
