POLICE are looking for Community Communications Department (J-Kom) assistant officer Abdul Wahab Abdul Kadir Jilani to assist with a probe into a viral video.
Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain said Wahab failed to appear before police.
He said the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has been using various methods to track him down.
“Although he has been called to assist in the investigation, Wahab has not come forward.
“We contacted him but his mobile phone was switched off,” he told Berita Harian today.
Wahab has been embroiled in controversy over a lewd video that also features former J-Kom director-general Agus Yusoff.
Razarudin said police have tried to reach Wahab through his lawyer, to no avail.
“I request that Wahab immediately appear to give his statement to help the investigation and resolve the case as soon as possible.
“Information and evidence from Wahab is very important and can confirm the role of ‘Mr H’ in the case,” he said.
Razarudin said police were working to identify “Mr H”, who reportedly persuaded Wahab to record his conversation with Agus.
A clip of an alleged conversation between Agus and Wahab went viral last week.
Agus at a press conference on Friday said the video was edited, and that he had reported the matter to police. – November 26, 2023.
