KEDAH Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor said more ferry operators to Langkawi, comprising various companies, will add value, thus offering more options to passengers. Apart from benefitting users, such healthy competition would help improve the service.

“If there are more (ferry operators), it will be merrier. Each passenger will look for one that provides the best service,” he told reporters after officiating Wisma KFA (Kedah Football Association) in Alor Star yesterday.

He was asked to comment about a ferry operator claiming that the company’s application to operate a ferry service to Langkawi was unsuccessful despite having met the stipulated conditions.

Meanwhile, Sanusi said that in addition to ferry services, any company could also provide water taxi services to Langkawi.

“Water taxi fares are expensive but can be done. If you have an emergency, you want to go to Langkawi fast, you can use a water taxi,” he said. – Bernama, November 24, 2023.
