Dr Mahathir insists plane was sabotaged

The Malaysian Insight

OPPOSITION leader Dr Mahathir Mohamad told a crowd of almost 1,000 people in Lembah Pantai today that his plane to Langkawi had been sabotaged.

Dr Mahathir said he had flown in aircrafts thousands of times including the one he was supposed to fly in that day, therefore how can it suddenly be damaged – one day before nomination day.

“(Prime Minister) Najib’s official man (pegawai suruhan) said the plane was not sabotaged. How would he know?

“When I was at the airport, none of them came to see what happened,” he said at a Pakatan Harapan ceramah at PPR Kerinchi tonight.

The former prime minister is being investigated under the Anti-Fake News Act over his statement alleging that his aircraft had been sabotaged.

Meanwhile, he also said Umno is no longer a party that fights for the people.

“I was Umno’s president and now I want to take it down because Umno is no longer Umno. It has become Najib’s party.

“When one enters Umno, the first question asked is ‘what will I get?‘“he said.

He added many people would have been familiar with election campaigns but there has never been a campaign where the turnout rate is this huge.

“Why a lot of people? Because everyone wants change,” added Dr Mahathir.

Dr Mahathir was the first speaker tonight and only spoke for about 20 minutes as he had to leave for the next event in Putrajaya. – May 3, 2018.
