TUARAN PKR elections deputy director Rajimit Gunong is among a group of 250 party members in the constituency who have defected to Barisan Nasional, reported Bernama.

Among them are 10 party leaders in Tamparuli.

Rajimit announced the group’s decision at the Tuaran PKR office today, saying it was because the party leadership had ignored them and did not appreciate their efforts.

Sulaman PKR Women’s coordinating chief Halimah Puloh said 50 members had quit before nomination day.

“More will likely follow and give their support to BN. We are thankful to Wilfred Madius Tangau, Hajiji Noor and Jahid Jahim for welcoming us into BN.”

She said the members who quit were unhappy with PKR’s candidate for the parliamentary seat, Chrisnadia Sinam, who has “never contributed anything” to the party. – May 2, 2018.
