PAKATAN Harapan is using funds from Barisan Nasional to topple Najib Razak, said Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

The PH prime minister designate said money given to voters by BN has been donated to the opposition pact by angry voters.

“PH has been saved by Najib and (caretaker Federal Territories minister) Tengku Adan (Tengku Mansor) because a portion, sometimes the entire amount received, is given to PH parties out of sympathy.

“This money being used by the (PH) campaign to topple Najib and Tengku Adnan.”

Dr Mahathir said BN has been handing out cash and kitchen appliances during ceramah.

“Many of the recipients have contributed a portion of the cash to PH. The items are also sold, and the proceeds donated to PH.”

He said he expects BN to dole out more cash and goodies over the next few days during the campaign period, and advised the people to take whatever that is given.

Dr Mahathir said there have been instances where recipients were told to swear in the name of God that they would vote for BN.

“In Islam, the intention is more important than what is recited. The recipients can recite (the oath) according to the wishes of Najib’s minions, but the intention in their hearts is to vote for PH.

“This is not wrong from a religious standpoint because there is no compulsion in Islam.” – May 2, 2018.
