Dr Mahathir claims harassment by customs officials

PAKATAN Harapan (PH) chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad alleged that he has been the victim of intimidation by the customs and immigration department.

“I came back on a flight from Kuala Terengganu today through Subang Airport and I was stopped by customs and immigration officers who went through my bags,” he said.

“I think they hoped to find money, but all they found was keropok lekor which I had brought back from Kuala Terengganu,” he told a crowd of 2,000 people in Desa Pandan, Kuala Lumpur last night.

“But I have never brought money in my bag, like Mike Tyson, who went to Australia, caught with bags of money,” Dr Mahathir added, referring to former Selangor MB Muhammad Muhammad Taib.

Also present was Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin and women chief Rina Harun.

Dr Mahathir also reiterated that he will not be in any hospital to gain sympathy from voters, as claimed by Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamid today.

“There’s no need for me to go to a hospital to get support from the people. The support I’ve been receiving throughout this campaign has been more than enough,” he said to cheers.

“I must apologise to everyone here, I chose Najib. The biggest mistake in my life is choosing Najib. I must correct this mistake. I will try my best. This is why we are out here, under the rain, in the mud. It’s okay, we are saving our country together.

“I don’t need to talk so much about Najib. All you need to know now is that he is a kleptocrat and that on May 9, he will be thrown out.

“We are not doing this out of revenge, but to restore law and order. Those who have broken the law, will face the consequences,” he said.

Meanwhile, Muhyiddin warned of racial rhetoric.

“I must warn you, as we approach polling day, they will use racial issues to scare the public. They will say if Pakatan wins, the future of the Malays will be destroyed, DAP will rule the country and the Chinese will control Malaysia.

“These threats will come from none other than Najib,” he said. – May 1, 2018.
