I don’t need to be hospitalised to get votes, says Dr M

DR Mahathir Mohamad has rubbished the claim by caretaker deputy prime minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi that the former prime minister will get himself admitted to hospital to gain sympathy votes.

The Pakatan Harapan chief said he did not have to pull such a stunt to reel in votes.

“I don’t have to go to the hospital to gain sympathy votes. I can get support without going to the hospital,” said Dr Mahathir after a campaign trip to Dengkil.

Zahid had made the claim while stumping in his constituency, saying Dr Mahathir, who is also Bersatu chairman, would use this tactic in view of his recent allegation that his aircraft had been sabotaged.

“He wanted to get sympathy before nomination day, claiming that the incident was aimed at disqualifying him from contesting the Langkawi parliamentary seat, “ Zahid said. – May 1, 2018.
