A CHINESE language community pamphlet demonising former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad is making its rounds in Langkawi, where he is standing for election as a Pakatan Harapan candidate.

The four-page pamphlets calling on voters to “exact revenge” on him were circulated at the Kuah market this morning.

Malay language daily Sinar Harian reported the pamphlets were also stuffed into the letter boxes of the people and distributed at the resort island’s food courts.

The author of the pamphlet is unknown.

Dr Mahathir is depicted as “anti-Chinese” and that he had to be defeated in the pamphlet, which listed 33 examples of how he had failed the community when he was prime minister.

It said now was the best time for the community to take revenge for all that Dr Mahathir did to the Chinese during his 23 years in office.

The pamphlet warned Dr Mahathir would return to Umno once PH took power.

“Now he is using DAP to pursue his quest against the Chinese. If he succeeds, he will rejoin Umno with the seats he has won.

The pamphlet highlighted Dr Mahathir’s draconian Operasi Lalang, when several Chinese educationists were arrested under the Internal Security Act, which was scrapped by the Najib administration.

Dr Mahathir had repeatedly warned at his ceramah that the BN will resort to cheating and dirty tactics to win the14th general election. – April 30, 2018.
