Muar's voters will reject 'greenhorn candidate', says Hishammuddin

MUAR’S voters will reject the “greenhorn candidate” contesting the federal seat, said Umno vice-president Hishammuddin Hussein.

Bernama reported Hishammuddin as saying the people’s mandate would be given to BN, as Muar’s voters would reject the “greenhorn” who only exploited issues instead of focusing on voters’ issues.

“He does not know the issues in Muar, so we must oppose him to the end,” he said at the Umno building in Muar today.

BN’s Razali Ibrahim is contesting the Muar seat against Pakatan Harapan’s Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman and PAS’ Abdul Aziz Talib.

Hishammuddin also said candidates and the machinery should harness their resources to fight slander and fake news on social media by bringing the real news directly to voters, especially younger ones.

“The war of social media has given various perceptions of the BN government. It is better for us to meet as many voters as possible.

“Make them understand the issues. The message must go down. This is our challenge,” he said.

Hishammuddin said he was confident in Muar BN’s machinery, which he said put the party’s interests above others. – April 30, 2018.
