A VIDEO and audio recording has surfaced showing Tajudin Ramli, a close associate of former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad alleging that the latter wants to bring down Umno.
“Before he dies, he wants to make sure Umno is dead,” Tajudin can be heard saying in the video and audio recording lasting eight minutes and 30 seconds, which was secretly recorded.
It was uploaded on the Facebook page of one Lim Sian See.
“He never forgave Umno for his loss in 1969. Now he wants to save Malaysia, but we should be saving Malaysia from him.”
It is unclear where or when the recording was made, but it shows Tajudin, a former owner of Celcom and Malaysia Airlines, having a conversation with someone in what looks to be a coffee shop.
The one-time corporate high-flyer, who was widely seen as getting preferential treatment from the Mahathir administration, also criticises the former prime minister for not truly bringing development to Langkawi, saying it had merely become a little more than a fishing village.
“He made Langkawi a duty-free island, but it never made profit for the people of Langkawi,” he said.
He can also be heard talking about Malaysia Airlines, of which he was the chief executive officer from 1994-2001, and of Daim Zainuddin and telecommunications mogul Ananda Krishna. – April 29, 2018.
