NOW that Dr Mahathir Mohamad is contesting in Langkawi, locals have become vocal and open in their support for Pakatan Harapan.

Most taxi drivers met at eateries are certain that Dr Mahathir will wrest the seat from Barisan Nasional and helm the government after the 14th general election (GE14).

Other voters met by Malaysia Decides at the Dewan Ho Peng in Langkawi at last night’s ceramah said they couldn’t wait for polling day on May 9 to show their support for the PH chairman.

“It is my hope to change once. We must see what the new government can do.

“Because, since independence, only BN has been in power. We don’t know how other people will be like,” said trader T. Ragendran, 34.

He said Dr Mahathir’s experience governing the country for 22 years made him well poised to restore Malaysia to its former glory.

“It is good Dr Mahathir is contesting in Langkawi. It is because of him that Langkawi is developed.”

Mohd Nor, 50, said this time, only Dr Mahathir was seen as having the capability to save the country from further destruction by Najib Razak.

“If we cannot change this time, Malaysia will be destroyed. That is why we want Dr Mahathir to be in Parliament, once and for all taking over Putrajaya from BN.” – April 29, 2018.
