BARISAN Nasional (BN) candidate for Pasir Gudang, Mohamed Khaled Nordin opened his 14th general election (GE14) campaign tonight urging voters to ignore “outsiders” and vote for him because he is from Johor.
Khalid said leaders of political parties whether of the opposition or in government only visited the voters once in a while unlike him who was constantly meeting the Pasir Gudang people.
“There are a lot of things going on now, we (must) ignore all that. We must think about Pasir Gudang, Johor Jaya and Permas.
“In Pasir Gudang, think about me, if you feel that I have represented you well then support me. I am the one contesting here, me, not Dr Mahathir, not Najib, not Muhyiddin,” he said to Sarawakians living in Kampung Baru Plentong
“I think the Sarawak people know me better, so don’t bother about the other people, they only come once in a while, but I am always with you,” he said.
Khaled will contest the Pasir Gudang parliamentary seat and Permas state seat while Tan Cher Puk will contest the Johor Jaya seat.
Khaled is banking on the 10,000 to 15,000 Sarawakians who live and work in Pasir Gudang to help him win.
“I assure you as long as I am the representative of the people, I, the menteri besar, will practise openness with the Sarawakians who are in Johor.” – April 28, 2018.
