Najib calls on Kedah farmers to move to Pekan

The Malaysian Insight

CARETAKER Prime Minister Najib Razak has invited Kedahans to move to Pekan, Pahang to help grow the paddy farming industry here.

He reasoned that Kedahans only knew how to plant paddy and were not good in other jobs.

“People in Kedah only know how to plant paddy, they do not know how to do any other jobs. So they need to come here and plant,” Najib said during his speech to Pekan farmers here.

He said he was pushing Pekan and Rompin to be major players in the paddy industry and asked Kedahans to move here.

“We aim to produce five to six tonnes a year and as we know that most of it is produced in Kedah and Perlis.

“So when you move to Pahang, we will receive you with open arms. And you will be my voters,” he said.

To expand the paddy industry in Pahang, Najib has allocated RM300 million for farmers to equip themselves with the latest agriculture technology.

Najib also said if people in Pahang voted for BN again they would stand to reap in more rewards then they already have. – April 28, 2018.
