THE National Service Training Programme 3.0 will be revived, but with a different training approach, including requiring youth to undergo training at army camps, Defence Minister Mohamad Hasan said.

There are 13 Territorial Army camps that can accommodate up to 20,000 trainees for the 45-day training programme, he added.
“In 2021, the cabinet gave the approval to continue the programme as it is highly beneficial in providing our youth with basic knowledge on nation-building.
“The Defence Ministry has set up a committee to study how we can revive the programme, but with a fresh template, not using the old approach, which made it more like a summer camp.
“At the same time, we want to implement the programme without spending a lot, but which will greatly benefit participants,” he said during the question-and-answer session in the Dewan Rakyat today. – Bernama, October 9, 2023.
