Nominations conclude in Sabah

ALL 14th general election candidates in Sabah have filed their nominations, said state Police Commissioner Ramli Din.

He said the candidates are from 12 state-based parties, eight Barisan Nasional components and four national opposition parties.

“The process ran smoothly, in an orderly fashion. There was just some traffic congestion in major towns like Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan and Tawau.

“There were also three incidents involving flying drones at the nomination centres in Semporna, Penampang and Papar.

“Police have detained the individuals who operated the drones. Action will be taken against them.”

Some 3,280 police officers were deployed from 6am to 11am at all 26 nomination centres in Sabah, as well as the federal territory of Labuan. – April 28, 2018.
