SABAH PKR chief Christina Liew nearly missed filing her candidacy for the Api-Api state seat when her nomination paper was objected by another opposition candidate.
SAPP president Yong Teck Lee, who is also contesting for the Kota Kinabalu parliamentary seat, had questioned Liew’s witness stamping on the particular nomination form instead of a handwritten signature.
But Returning Officer Robert Lipon okayed Liew’s nomination after getting clearance from the Sabah Election Commission.
“There was no issue,” he said.
Liew won the Api-Api state seat, which is under the Kota Kinabalu parliamentary seat, in the 13th general election and is now defending it.
She is contesting both the Tawau parliamentary seat and Api-Api this time. – April 28, 2018.
