BUKIT Antarangsa incumbent Azmin Ali said he remains focused on retaining the seat and would not be distracted by his celebrity brother’s candidacy for the state seat.

“We are a democracy. Even if a relative wants to challenge, I won’t concede defeat,” said Azmin after the naming of candidates for the Gombak parliamentary constituency, of which he is also the incumbent.

“I have stressed that this is a democratic process, so anybody can stand. We have to accept the decision of the people. The power is in their hands.”

Azmin’s flamboyant younger brother, Azwan, was also named as a candidate for the Bukit Antarabangsa state seat this morning.

Azwan is running as an independent candidate and announced that his logo is an elephant as he intends to “crush” his older brother.

In 2013, Azmin won the Bukit Antarabangsa state seat by 4,044 votes over Barisan Nasional’s Mohamad Nadzim Ibrahim. – April 28, 2018.
