THE National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) said it would offer loan advances to 30,893 public higher learning institution (IPTA) students for the October intake, amounting to RM46.34 million.

PTPTN chairman Norliza Abdul Rahim in a statement said each student would get RM1,500.

This initiative, eligible for Malaysian students whose parents or guardians are recipients of the Rahmah Cash Contribution, aimed to ensure no student was left behind in furthering their studies due to financial issues, she said.

“This loan advance is to ease the financial burden of students and parents because we believe not everyone can afford to send their children to IPTA,” she said.

Students can check their eligibility for a loan advance on PTPTN’s online portal. Those eligible can redeem the advance at Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd counters nationwide until November 18.

Students are required to bring the loan advance offer letter and their student card to redeem the loan advance at the bank’s counters.

More information on the loan advance is available on the PTPTN portal and its myPTPTN app. – Bernama, September 25, 2023.
