HIGHER Education Minister Mohamed Khaled Nordin said RM15 million was needed for the digitalisation agenda in all polytechnics.

He said the Polytechnic and Community College Education Department submitted an application for the allocation to the ministry.

“God willing, we will try to approve the RM15 million application,” he told the media after the closing ceremony of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Digital 2023 Week at Politeknik Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah today.

Khaled said the digitalisation effort was needed as the government is confident TVET studies in polytechnics were vital for the future of the country, in addition to ensuring the institutions remain relevant and able to attract the interests of students.

Khaled also said Muda’s decision to withdraw support for the unity government would not affect the coalition, as it did not need a two-thirds majority at all levels of parliament. – Bernama, September 11, 2023.
