UMNO will be compiling all findings from post-mortems carried out to identify the weaknesses that contributed to the party’s losses in the recent state elections on August 12.

Umno vice-president Mohamed Khaled Nordin said currently, post-mortems are being conducted at the party’s state and wing levels.

“Each state and wings will carry out the study before we compile them (findings),” he told reporters after opening the maiden edition of Premier Madani Debate 2023 at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in Bangi today.

Umno only won 19 state seats out of 108 contested in the state elections. Barisan Nasional won 14 seats in Negri Sembilan, two each in Selangor and Penang, one in Kelantan.

It failed to win any seats in Kedah and Terengganu. – Bernama, August 21, 2023.
