PAKATAN Harapan (PH) communications director Fahmi Fadzil has rued the coalition’s narrow loss in the Sungai Kandis state seat.
Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) Wan Dzahanurin Ahmad managed to secure 28,962 votes, giving him a slim 167-vote majority win over Zawali Mughni of PH, who received 28,759 votes.
Muda’s candidate Afriena Shaqira garnered 1,341 votes.
“I am saddened that this split allowed PN to win a seat but I’m not prepared to make more comments on that for the moment,” Fahmi told reporters at the World Trade Centre after attending the unity government secretariat gathering.
Muda was in an electoral pact with PH last year but decided to go solo for the six state polls.
Muda president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman said Muda ended ties with PH because the coalition had backtracked on its reform pledges.
