THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) said it has not received an official complaint or memorandum from Bersatu party leader Badrul Hisham Shaharin said Azam Baki.

Sources said on July 11, at 1.52pm, Badrul went to the MACC headquarters but did not submit a complaint.

“He held a press conference outside the MACC headquarters and after that, he went to submit a memorandum at the security post.

“However, MACC officials informed him of the procedure to submit the memorandum, which must be done in the premises as there are officers ready to receive it,” he told The Malaysian Insight.

Badrul, also known as Chegubard, in a press conference on July 11 said he had proof about the ownership of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s house, land and car.

He said he would submit evidence showing Anwar’s Kajang residence belongs to a businessman.

Anwar’s political secretary Ahmad Farhan Fauzi lodged a police report on July 13 against Badrul for slandering the prime minister.

The sources said Badrul refused to enter the MACC headquarters, saying the latter insisted on submitting the memorandum via post.

The source said the agency has not received an official complaint or memorandum from Badrul.

MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki when contacted also denied having received any complaint or report from Badrul.

Last week, Anwar’s lawyer Sankara Nair said the prime minister’s residence had been leased for 10 years since 2020.

Badrul lodged a police report against Anwar yesterday and claimed the prime minister pressured authorities to “shut his mouth”.

Apart from Badrul, reports were also made by Tasek Gelugor MP Wan Saiful Wan Jan and blogger Raggie Jessy Rithaudeen. – July 17, 2023.
