THE open payment system, which allows road users to pay tolls using debit and credit cards, will be implemented at 12 highways starting September.
Works Minister Alexander Nanta Linggi said they are the Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway, Guthrie Corridor Expressway, Sungai Besi Expressway, New Pantai Expressway, Penang Bridge and Butterworth-Kulim Expressway.
Others are the Damansara-Puchong Expressway, Western Kuala Lumpur Traffic Dispersal Scheme, Shah Alam Expressway, SMART Tunnel, Kuala Lumpur-Putrajaya Expressway and Duta-Ulu Klang Expressway.
“The system is one of the initiatives of the government, which is committed to the transition towards the implementation of the multi-lane fast flow (MLFF) toll collection. This is expected to be realised in stages by the end of 2024,” he said when opening the second phase of the Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Expressway (Suke), at the Alam Damai toll plaza today.
He said all the toll plazas on Suke have been equipped with the MLFF system. – Bernama, June 15, 2023.
