POLICE recorded a total of 1,389 accidents nationwide on the second day of Op Selamat 20 held in conjunction with Hari Raya.

The Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department said out of the 1,601 vehicles involved in accidents, 1,159 were cars.

Other vehicles involved were four-wheel drive vehicles (112), motorcycles (192) and multi-purpose vehicles or MPVs (81).

Yesterday, accidents involved 15 lorries, vans (23), buses (13) and taxis (4) and two bicycles. 

The number of accidents recorded was a drop from the first day of operations, which logged 1,964 accidents involving 2,486 vehicles.

On Thursday, there was total of 1,704 accidents involving cars, followed by motorcycles (279), four-wheel drive vehicles (206), MPVs (150), lorries (91), vans (44), buses (10) and taxis (two). – April 22, 2023.
