IF it was up to Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, the 14th general election will be his last.
But while he would like to make way for younger leaders at the reins, the Bagan Datuk MP said his Barisan Nasional colleagues want him to stay – and for 20 years more, too.
“I have told my friends in Barisan Nasional that I do not want to contest anymore after this. I will quit before I turn 93,” he said, in a not-so-subtle dig at the Pakatan Harapan prime minister designate Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who turns 93 this year.
“It is enough. Let others from Bagan Datuk contest.
“I want my friends in the media to understand that I really don’t intend to contest anymore, but my friends have asked me to stay on for another 20 years.”
Zahid said proposed projects in Bagan Datuk were not for him but for the generations to come.
“(These projects) will be a legacy, not mine personally, but anyone who represents Barisan Nasional,” Zahid said at an event in his constituency, today.
Among the initiatives highlighted by Zahid for Bagan Datuk today was a proposed undersea tunnel connecting Bagan Datuk to Sumatra.
“We want to attract tourists from Indonesia and also make Bagan Datuk a logistics hub.” – March 18, 2018.

So better tell the world that this is the last one...it won't be so embarrassing when the end comes.

If lost GE14, this dog will say “I want to give the young generation to fight back into Government, farewell folks” . Better check his bank account , Tun M said found him possess 20 million ringgit in his account unexplainable during his PM time.
